About
The General authorization database (GADB) is an EU database that consists of notifications from providers of electronic communications networks and services transmitted to the competent authorities in EU member states by undertakings subject to the general authorisation regime.
The GADB is established by the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC), and maintained by the BEREC Office on its behalf, to meet requirements set by:
- Article 12 of Directive (EU) 2018/1972 providing that BEREC shall publish guidelines for the notification template maintain a Union database of the notifications transmitted to the competent authorities - Article 4(1)(l)(i) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1971 providing that BEREC shall establish and maintain a database of the notifications transmitted to the competent authorities by undertakings subject to general authorisation, in accordance with Article 12 of Directive (EU) 2018/1972.
- Article 5 of the Regulation (EU) 2018/1971  providing that the BEREC Office shall assist BEREC in establishing and maintaining such database.
- Article 5 of BEREC Guidelines for the notification template pursuant to article 12, paragraph 4 of Directive 2018/1972 of the European Parliament and of the Council which specifies the notification template for uploading to the GADB.

Purpose
The GADB allows users to search information about undertakings subject to the general authorisation regime. For providers, users can use the following search options: provider's name, provider's legal status, address, country. For services/networks, users can use the following search options: network type, service type, wholesale or retail level, public availability, and geographical area.
